Cutty Sark
Built in Scotland in 1869 at a cost of £16,150, the Cutty Sark is the world's last surviving tea clipper. She sailed the tea trade route between China and London from 1870 -1878 then was re-routed onto the Australian wool run. She now stands in dry dock beside the River Thames, just a 15 minute walk from Bounty House. Unfortunately the ship was badly damaged in a fire on 21 May 2007 while undergoing restoration.
Can you see? That building with a domed glass roof is actually the entrance to a tunnel under the River Thames!
