Here are some recent news stories from Embassy Seattle-Tacoma:
Volunteering

Students from Embassy Seattle-Tacoma school volunteered to help out at a soup kitchen in downtown Tacoma recently. Students from the Embassy Transition classes who will be attending Pacific Lutheran University in the future volunteered with St. Leo's Hospitality Services in downtown Tacoma, Washington. St. Leo's provides breakfast and lunch free of charge five days a week. Nobody is turned away. It is a great programme for people who are unable to afford food. The Embassy students worked in the kitchen where they helped prepare a well balanced meal. They also served food to participants and helped clean up the facility at the end of their shift.
Student Chenyu Xu commented that working in the soup kitchen made him feel sad for the people in his home country of China. They have similar services in China, but the quality of food served to the homeless in China is much lower. All the students now understand and appreciate how the efforts of a social services organization can make a difference in so many lives.
Embassy CES Seattle Spring Diploma Graduation

Recently the Embassy Seattle-Tacoma held a graduation ceremony for Diploma students. This was followed by a student talent show. It all happened in the chapel of a church near Pacific Lutheran University. We had eleven diploma graduates - four DIP Advanced students and seven DIP High-Intermediate students. Four of the students were DIP years. After the graduates had all given their speeches we had a student talent show in which some of our students showed us what they could do.
