How to reach Embassy Seattle-Tacoma

Embassy Seattle-Tacoma is situated on the campus of Pacific Lutheran University, in the commuter town of Tacoma, 36 miles south of Seattle.

The local public transportation system is reliable and inexpensive. The bus network in Tacoma is wide-ranging and convenient, and makes transportation to downtown Seattle very easy.

Alternatively, a commuter train carries passengers between Seattle and Tacoma.

Some public transport is free! Downtown Tacoma has a free light rail system that swiftly carries passengers within the local area, and Seattle’s underground bus system provides free transportation inside the downtown area.

By bus

From Seattle to Embassy at Pacific Lutheran University

Take Bus 590, 591, 592, or 594 from Seattle-Tacoma to the Tacoma Dome Station. The buses run two or three times an hour, from 5.30 am to 11.30 pm, and take approx 50 minutes (cost US$ 3.00).

Transfer to Bus 1 south, and get off at Parkland Transit Center (approx 30 mins, approx four times an hour, cost US$ 1.50).

From Parkland Transit Center walk across the street to the East Campus building. Embassy/Study Group offices are located on the 2nd floor.

From Pacific Lutheran University to downtown Tacoma

Walk across the street to the Parkland Transit Center and take Bus 1 north to Tacoma Dome Station (approx 30 mins, approx four times an hour, cost US$ 1.50).

By car

From Interstate 5 (North or South)

  • Take exit 127 off Interstate 5 and head east on Highway 512
  • Continue on 512 for approximately two miles
  • Take the WA-7/Pacific Ave exit.
  • Turn right on Pacific Avenue S.
  • Turn right on 121 St.
  • Turn left into the parking lot of the East Campus/PLU Community Outreach Building.
  • Embassy/Study Group offices are located on the 2nd floor in Suite 25.
