Oxford: FAQs
These are the questions we are most frequently asked about studying at Oxford.
If you have a question and cannot find the answer below, please contact us - we'll be happy to help, and we might even add your question to this page.
- How far is the school from the city centre?
-
The school is actually in the city centre. As soon as you step out of the door, you are in the main shopping area. You'll find a map on the Oxford local information page.
- How far are the residences / the Homestays from the school?
-
Please see our Oxford Accommodation section for full details. Homestays are a maximum of 45 minutes away by public transport, and often closer. One residence is within a few minutes' walk, while the other two are 20 minutes' walk away.
- Is there internet access at the school / at the residence / in Homestay? Is it free to use?
-
All our schools have wireless internet access which is free and unlimited. Students can also use the school computers for free all day (08.45 to 17.30 Monday to Friday), but may have to wait during busy times.
The residences have wireless internet access throughout.
Homestays differ, and we cannot guarantee nternet access. Please mention at the time of booking if it is important to you, and we will do our best to accommodate your requirements.
- Can I see some photos of the school / the residence?
-
Please see our Oxford photo gallery. If you would like to see more photos, just contact us. We can email you pictures that will help you to imagine life at Embassy Oxford a bit more clearly.
- Do I need a car in Oxford?
-
No. Oxford is a small, walkable city and is very well-connected by rail. The school itself is in the centre of town, and our Activities programme will take you to many surrounding places, so we'd recommend that you don't need a car.
You will find the answer to more general questions about Embassy on our main FAQs page.
