Melbourne: FAQs
These are the questions we are most frequently asked about studying at Melbourne.
If you have a question and cannot find the answer below, please contact us - we'll be happy to help, and we might even add your question to this page.
- How far is the school from the city centre?
-
The school is actually in the city centre. As soon as you step out of the door, you are in the main shopping area. You'll find a map on the Melbourne local information page.
- How far is the residence /are the Homestays from the school?
-
Please see our Melbourne Accommodation section for full details. Homestays are an average of 35-40 minutes away by public transport, and often closer. Taylors On A'Beckett is about ten minutes' walk away.
- Is there internet access at the school / at the residence? Is it free to use?
-
All our schools have wireless internet access which is free and unlimited. Students can also use the school computers for free all day, but may have to wait during busy times.
At Taylors On A'Beckett, telephone and internet connection is optional, and the charges are additional. When you arrive at TOAB you will be provided with the necessary information to connect these services if you choose.
Homestays differ, and we cannot guarantee internet access. Please mention at the time of booking if it is important to you, and we will do our best to accommodate your requirements.
- Can I see some photos of the school / the residence?
-
Please see our Melbourne photo gallery. If you would like to see more photos, just contact us. We can email you pictures that will help you to imagine life at Embassy Melbourne a bit more clearly.
- Do I need a car in Melbourne?
-
The school itself is central and easily accessible by public transport, and our Activities programme will take you to many surrounding places, so we'd recommend that you don't need a car.
You will find the answer to more general questions about Embassy on our main FAQs page.
