Auckland: FAQs

These are the questions we are most frequently asked about studying at Auckland.

If you have a question and cannot find the answer below, please contact us - we'll be happy to help, and we might even add your question to this page.

How far is the school from the city centre?

The school is actually in the city centre, just a block away from Queen Street, Auckland's major commercial thoroughfare. You'll find a map on the Auckland local information page.

How far are the residences / the Homestays from the school?

Please see our Auckland Accommodation section for full details. Homestays are a maximum of 45 minutes away by public transport, and often closer. Many of the hostels we recommend are within five minutes' walk.

Is there internet access at the school / at the residence / in Homestay? Is it free to use?

All our schools have wireless internet access which is free and unlimited. Students can also use the school computers for free at any time of day, but may have to wait during busy periods.

Can I see some photos of the school / the residence?

Please see our Auckland photo gallery. If you would like to see more photos, just contact us. We can email you pictures that will help you to imagine life at Embassy Auckland a bit more clearly.

Do I need a car in Auckland?

Auckland's suburbs are spread out, but the city centre is walkable, and there is extensive public transport to all areas. The school itself is easily accessible by public transport, and our Activities programme will take you to many surrounding places, so we'd recommend that you don't need a car.

You will find the answer to more general questions about Embassy on our main FAQs page.
