Party 'til the cows come home

"Until the cows come home" is an English idiom meaning "for a very long time". Recently, students at Embassy Oxford had a good chance to learn this expression: a bovine guest came to the school and kicked off a party that had people eating ice cream until the cows came home.

Football success for Brisbane

On Saturday 21st June 2008, the Embassy Brisbane soccer team played in an inter-school soccer competition with 11 other English language schools from Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
With Kristian as their coach, mentor and strategist, Embassy played well all day managing to make it to the Grand Final.
Through injury, Embassy's numbers were not at their strongest for the final so unfortunately we lost the grand final 2-1 to Bond University and are therefore the 2008 runners up.
This is by far the best result Embassy Brisbane has had since the competition's inception so huge congratulations to Kristian and the team!

Hallowe'en at Embassy CES Boston
Have you ever heard the English expression 'sick and tired'? We were very impressed when we saw this photograph from Embassy CES Boston Hallowe'en party, where two students had dressed up as a representation of the phrase - how original! What other English idiomatic phrases would make a good Hallowe'en costume, we wondered - how about 'he lost his head', 'she's beside herself', 'lend me your ear', 'over my dead body' or 'a skeleton in the closet'?
See more photos from the party on the Embassy CES staff blog.
