Rafael Guthartz
Student Services Representative: Bursar
I've always had an interest in international education: I've studied the Chinese language in China as an undergraduate, and Anthropology in India and Nepal. Although we encourage students to speak English in the school, if needs be I can communicate in Chinese, and sometimes I surprise Chinese students by interrupting their conversations!
Before I came here, I was teaching English and Social Studies at middle school, and I was a supervisor at camp school and for after-school programmes.
My job now is to answer students' questions, whatever they may be, to register students for class, and to take their payments. I like it here. I have great co-workers and I particularly enjoy exploring the neighbourhoods of New York City - the history and architecture. I live next to Central Park and I love it.
My other hobbies and interests are music, politics, American Football, and of course the Chinese language: I still take lessons.
