Luiz Moffa, Brazilian student at Embassy CES London

Luiz Moffa, Brazilian

I like the fact that the school is in Greenwich, which is like a small town inside a big city: you are really close to the centre of a fantastic city but it is quiet. I live in the residence which is great - literally next door to the school.

I love the school's social programme, there's so much to do and because the school manages to get group tickets for theatres, shows, concerts, football matches, we can do all these things much cheaper than we would if we were buying the tickets ourselves. I'm really trying to get as much out of this experience as I can. I'm visiting museums, libraries doing lots of reading and so on.

I’m a journalist by profession, and I've managed to get a part-time job here working for a magazine for Brazilians in London called Jungle Drums. It's in English and Portuguese. So I study English in the morning then go up to central London in the afternoon to work.

My teacher Laura, is great. We took the Cambridge First Certificate exam at the end of the term, but we didn't just focus on exam preparation, which would have been boring, we did lots of related, everyday stuff too. And she's been really helpful in improving my writing – I give her my pieces and she corrects them for me.

I would sincerely recommend this school.
