Five fun things to do near the school

  • Head to downtown Tacoma and the waterfront to enjoy the shops, clubs and restaurants, and views over the Puget Sound waters
  • Go hiking, kayaking, walking, or visit the zoo and aquarium at Point Defiance Park
  • Visit the Museum of Glass and see what amazing things can be done with this versatile material
  • Rent a boat and go crabbing, 'squid jigging', fishing, or just enjoy the ride
  • Take a trip into central Seattle to see famous sites such as the Space Needle and the world's first Starbuck's coffee shop

March Moisture Festival: A great chance to see the world's best comedy, variety and vaudeville performers in one place.
May Seattle Cheese Festival: Like cheese? Sample over 250 types and enjoy unusual activities such as the cheese maze.
June Slugfest: Can you bear to celebrate this maligned creature? Plenty can!
July Seafair Five weeks of events including air shows, fireworks and a torchlight parade.
July to August Music in the Parks: While away Thursday evenings and Saturday afternoons listening to outdoor concerts. Also look out for outdoor movie screenings.
September Bumbershoot: The biggest arts and music festival in North America.
November to December Winterfest This seasonal event offers ice-skating, concerts, dance, exhibitions and more.

Embassy Seattle-Tacoma（シアトル タコマ)への行き方

Embassy Seattle-Tacoma は、シアトルの南36マイルの通勤圏の町タコマにある、パシフィックルーテラン大学のキャンパスの中にあります。

近隣の公共交通システムは信頼のおけるものであり、かつ低料金です。　タコマ内のバスのネットワークは、多岐にわたりとても便利なものであり、シアトルのダウンタウンへの移動を容易にしています。

別の方法としては、通勤電車がシアトルータコマ間を走り、乗客の足となっています。

多くの公共交通機関は無料です！　タコマのダウンタウンには無料のライトレイルシステムがあり、地域エリア内に乗客を運びます。　シアトルの地下バスシステムは、ダウンタウンのエリア内で無料の移動手段となっています。

バス利用

シアトルから Pacific Lutheran University にある Embassy まで

シアトル‐タコマ空港から590, 591, 592, または 594 番のバスに乗り、Tacoma Dome ステーションまで。　バスは朝5:30～夜11:30まで、1時間に2～3本運行しており、所要時間は約50分です。（運賃は US$ 3.00)

1番の南行きバスに乗り換え、Parkland Transit Center で下車（所要時間約 30分、1時間に4本程度運行、運賃は US$ 1.50)

Parkland Transit Center より、East Campus building 側へと通りを渡ります。Embassy/Study Group のオフィスは2階にあります。

Pacific Lutheran University からタコマのダウンタウンまで

Parkland Transit Center 側へと通りを渡り、1番の北行きバスに乗りTacoma Dome ステーションまで。（所要時間約 30分、1時間に4本程度運行、運賃は US$ 1.50)

  • Interstate 5 の127番出口を出て、ハイウエイ512号線を東へ
  • 約2マイル512号線を進みます
  • WA-7/Pacific Ave 出口を出て
  • Pacific Avenue S. を右折
  • 121 St. を右折
  • East Campus/PLU Community Outreach Building の駐車スペースに入るように左折します
  • Embassy/Study Group のオフィスは、2階の25号室にあります。
