Five fun things to do near the school

  • Visit one of the many central museums in Oxford – pick from Natural History, Art, Local History, the Bus Museum, and several more.
  • Wander through the city centre, which alternates top High Street shops with historic sights. There's also a covered market, and many cafés and bars.
  • Take a picnic to Christ Church Meadow (a large piece of public grassland in the centre of the city) or the Botanic Garden. 
  • Hire a punt (a flat boat) and indulge in the classic summertime Oxford activity of floating downriver
  • Visit the excellent public library.

March Easter Egg rolling: Why not paint an egg and join in this curious event?
May May Day Celebration: The streets fill with music, the pubs and cafes open for breakfast, and festivities are all around.
May Beating the Bounds: Watch a group of folk performing the traditional battering of historic stones around town.  A unique experience.
June Cowley Road Carnival: Celebrating the diversity of East Oxford’s communities with a blend of music, dance, street theatre and a huge procession.   
June Jericho Street Fair: Market stalls, barbeque, live music, food, and outdoor fun.
August Party in the Park: A day of music held in one of the local parks, with top names from pop performing.
August Oxford City Royal Regatta & Sprint: A historic and popular regatta on the river, with several types of boat race.  
September St Giles’ Fair: An annual two-day street fair.

Embassy Oxford（オックスフォード）への行き方

ロンドン　パディングトン駅より:  オックスフォード行きの直行のいずれかに乗車、またはReadingで乗り換え。所要時間は約1時間です。運賃は、一日のうちの時間帯により異なります。ピーク時以外であれば、往復券が約GB £15.00で購入できます。

オックスフォード行きの電車は、ピークの時間帯には1時間に最低4本運行されています。

オックスフォード駅より:  スクールまでは歩いて行くことができます。 所要時間はおよそ10 -15分です。

駅から、駅前に広がる大きな広場へ出て左折します。 Said Business School を通り過ぎ、そのまま直進します。Royal Oxford Hotel を右手に見ながら、Hythe Bridge Street を上り、川を渡ります。Hythe Bridge Street がカーブしている所で、George Street 側へと真っすぐ渡り、その道を町の中心まで道なりに進みます。 Magdalen Street East と Cornmarket Street の交差点にたどり着けば、ま向かいの通りがBroad Streetです。

私たちのスクールは、Broad Street の1‐5番にあります。Embassy CES の看板をお探しください。

タクシーとバス:  鉄道の駅を出てすぐの所に、バス停とタクシー乗り場があります。バスは、わざわざ利用するほどの価値はありません。なぜなら、市内の複雑な一方通行システムに従って運行しなければならないからです。　徒歩、またはドアまで送り届けてくれるタクシーを利用した方が時間がかかりません。

とは言え、駅は、市内の他の場所へ行くバスに乗車するには適した場所です。駅前で正しいバス停を見つけることができない場合には、駅前の大きな広場に出て、反対側のSaid Business School の方を見ると、道の真ん中の島に、いくつかのバス停を見つけることができます。

Hottest month August 75° F. Bring: summer clothes such as t-shirts, shorts and sandals, but be prepared for colder days, and even rain, with sweaters, light coats and jeans.
