Five fun things to do near the school

  • Walk or cycle along the esplanade. Hastings and St Leonards seafront is part of the  South Coast Cycle Route, on which you can ride from Dover to Hastings.
  • Enjoy the beach – sunbathe, take a dip in the sea (in warmer months!) or enjoy beach sports such as volleyball.
  • Visit the Norman Hastings castle (which also gives great views) and the nearby village of Battle, where the events of 1066 changed British history.
  • Wander through the quirky shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs of Hastings' Old Town.
  • Enjoy one of the town's museums - these include Smugglers Caves, the Hastings Embroidery (depicting the 900-year history of Hastings), the Shipwreck Heritage and the Fisherman's Museum.

July St Leonards Festival: Carnival in which the streets of St Leonards are filled with stalls, music, dancing and food.
August Hastings Old Town Carnival Week: Enjoy a parade, music, dancing and odd sports such as pram races.
September Hastings Seafood and Wine Festival: Taste the fruits of the local fishing and wine industries.
October Hastings Week: The Battle of Hastings is marked with this annual week of events, culminating in an astonishing bonfire night and firework displays. Also enjoy the unique spectacle of the Town Criers' championship.

Embassy Hastings（ヘイスティングス）への行き方

ガトウィック空港より(南ターミナル):
St Leonards Warrior Square への電車は1時間に1本出ています。所要時間は約1時間45分です。（運賃はおよそ £16.00）

ロンドン Charing Cross 駅より: St Leonards Warrior Square (ヘイスティングスが最終駅なることが多い) への電車をご利用ください。ピークの時間帯には、1時間に2本運行されています。所要時間は約1時間半、途中主要な駅にのみ停車します。片道チケットは約 £22.00 ですが、早目の予約やシーズンチケットを利用すれば、低価格のチケットが入手できます。

ロンドン Victoria 駅より: St Leonards Warrior Square (ヘイスティングスが最終駅となることが多い）への電車をご利用ください。通常、ビクトリア駅の右端、出発案内板の裏手のプラットフォームからの発車となります。ピークの時間帯には、直行電車は1時間に1本運行されています。　所要時間は2時間を少し切ります。途中主要駅にのみ停車します。

St Leonards Warrior Square 駅より: 私たちのスクールは、徒歩約5分のところにあります。メインの出入り口から駅を後にして駐車場へ。右手に上り坂になっている歩道が見えます。 この道を、主要道 London Road にぶつかるまで進み、左折してLondon Road を1~2分歩くと、大きな教会が道の反対側に見えてきます。道を渡り、Pevensey Road の坂を上ります。この時、教会はあなたの右手となります。

数分歩くと Pevensey Road が分岐しますので、右のCharles Road を進みます。すると、またすぐこの道が分岐します。Embassy Hastings は、Charles Road と Dane Road の角にあります。(Embassy の看板を探してください)

メインの出入り口は、ビルの裏側、Charles Road に面しています。

ヘイスティングスの中心部より徒歩で:　ヘイスティングスの中心部よりスクールまではおよそ1.5 マイルです。

最も簡単なルートは、海岸に向かって歩き、右（西）方向に曲がります。1マイルほど歩いたら、右手に Warrior Square Gardens を見ながら通り過ぎます。2ブロック進み、London Road を内陸に向かって進み、7番目の角を左に曲がるとPevensey Road です。

数分歩くと Pevensey Road が分岐しますので、右のCharles Road を進みます。すると、またすぐこの道が分岐します。Embassy Hastings は、Charles Road と Dane Road の角にあります。(Embassy の看板を探してください)

メインの出入り口は、ビルの裏側、Charles Road に面しています。

ヘイスティングスの中心部より電車で:

イーストボーン、ブライトン、チチェスターなど西へ向かう電車、もしくはロンドン行きの電車のいずれかで、1つ先の駅 St Leonards Warrior Square まで。3分しかかかりません。

Hottest month July and August 70 - 80° F. Bring: summer clothes such as t-shirts, shorts and sandals, but be prepared for colder days, and even rain, with sweaters, light coats and jeans.
