Five fun things to do near the Embassy Brisbane school

  • Take a ferry on Brisbane River for great views of the city.
  • Stroll through the nearby Botanic Gardens - why not take a picnic? You can join a guided tour, and the gardens are even open at night, with lit-up walkways.
  • Wander across the Victoria Bridge to Southbank Parklands.  Swim in the famous Streets City Beach.  Dine in one of the many cafes or restaurants.  Stroll through the Art and Crafts markets at the weekend.
  • Go rock-climbing or abseiling on Kangaroo Point (or just watch other people doing it).
  • Shop 'til you drop in the central business district.

July to August (every second year) Brisbane Festival: This international arts festival occurs in evenly-numbered years (2008, 2010, 2012…)
August: Ekka: This historic event started as an agricultural show, and has expanded to include stalls, events and entertainment of all kinds.
August to September: River Festival: A superb event that takes Brisbane River as its theme.
