Gaby Purkarthofer, Austria
I come from Austria and I'm 50. I'm an interior designer.
I was here a year ago, and it was so good for me, and the teacher was beautiful and very kind, that I decided to come once more.
I'm learning English for my job, and also I'm planning to travel a lot, so it's very important for me, speaking English very well. I have to go to trade fairs, and it is very international, and so I have to speak and order in English and it's not so easy. I'm now in the Intermediate class and I think the activities are very, very good. In the mornings we have a lot of grammar, but I think that's important at this level.
The afternoon class is also good: we have a lot of vocabulary relating to culture and to England, and I think this is very interesting.
You know, at my age it's not easy! I must learn a lot and the next day, it's not guaranteed that the vocabulary is in my head! And so I very often stay at home with my host family, and watch TV. On the weekend I go out, shopping in Brighton, or it's not too far to London, just one hour by train. This is fine.
It's a good school and you can learn very well, and it's not too late for all the oldies!
