Barbara Halwa,
Student Services Manager
Hi! My name is Barbara and I'm originally from Austria. I have been living in the States for ten years and love Florida. You will see that it is a great place to study because it feels like you're always on vacation!
I'm responsible for all our students' accommodations, whether you will be staying in a hotel, an apartment or with a host household.
I'm also in charge of organizing our activities: beach volleyball; renting limos and going to South Beach; going to NBA games, visiting the alligators in the Everglades and lots more!
On the weekends we offer trips to Disneyworld and Universal Studios, Key West, Miami, Bahamas Cruises: every weekend something different!
There are some very special things you can do in Florida too, like swimming with the dolphins, which will surely be an unforgettable experience.
My "hobby" is my little boy Ryan, who was born in 2005. You'll probably meet him at one of the barbeques!
Being a foreigner myself, I can relate to students and know how difficult it can be at the beginning, until you know your way around, until you make some friends…So I'm here to help you if you need anything and want to make sure you go home with lots of great impressions and experiences.
I will see you on your first day in orientation!
