My top tip for enjoying life in Brighton
Brighton has a great atmosphere so live life to the full and get involved. Don’t stay in all week - go to the North Laine and the Lanes, or to the beach. They are always buzzing with people.
My experience
I have been a teacher since 2003. It was inevitable really as I come from a family of teachers. I taught in Italy for a couple of years and eventually moved to Brighton to do my Masters and DELTA. I love it here so I decided to stay, and I have been at Embassy for just over a year. I find that every student has different strengths, and I like helping them to recognise them and make the most of them.

I am passionate about my job. I love the people I work with and all my students. Being able to help someone learn a language is extremely fulfilling. I have been teaching languages for over 15 years (in Brazil and the UK) and I am lucky to be able to work for one of the top language schools in England and feel valued for my work.

My experience
I used to be an artist living in Spain but trained to be a teacher in 2005 because I enjoyed travelling and meeting new people from exciting countries. I am obsessed with language and communication. I have travelled to Spain, Italy, Kenya, Austria and France. Now I love helping students develop their language and confidence in their abilities. Studying should be fun and challenging. Now I also manage general English and elective courses as well as doing some teacher training, but the teaching has always been my motivation. My hobbies are painting, listening to live music and dancing.

My experience
I trained to be a teacher so that I could live in Mexico. I love languages and helping people communicate about life and culture. I have realised just how much I enjoy teaching so I am doing a DELTA to learn more. My Advanced Practitioner role is really stimulating as I get to use many skills. I consider myself very lucky to work in the profession I do.
