Language Year Abroad: your choices

Choose your course duration:

• 1 term (11 weeks) - Language Semester Abroad - 11 weeks in total
• 2 terms (22 weeks) - Language Semester Abroad - 6 months in total*
• 3 terms (33 weeks) - Language Year Abroad - 9 months in total*
• 4 terms (44 weeks) - Language Year Abroad - 12 months in total*
  
  *Monthly total includes 2 weeks’ vacation in between each term; 4 weeks over Christmas period in December.

Each term lasts for 11 weeks.

Choose the number of lessons per week:

• Prefer to have plenty of free time? Choose 20 hours per week
  (Course name: Standard 20).
• Prefer to focus on studying? Choose 28 hours per week
  (Course name: Intensive 28)

Each lesson lasts for 50 minutes

Timetable

• Half day, each day - lessons may be in the mornings OR afternoons.
• We try hard to arrange morning lessons but cannot guarantee all lessons are morning only.

Focus

• Core skills of grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, reading, speaking, listening, writing.

28 lessons per week - Course name: 'Intensive 28'

Timetable

• 20 lessons per week mornings
• 8 lessons per week afternoons

Focus

• Core skills plus a broader range of elective subjects.

Select from a range of afternoon electives to broaden your English skills; sample electives include:

• Business communication
• Exam preparation
• Pronunciation
• Grammar workshops
• Vocabulary development
• Presentation skills
• Media studies
• Research skills
• University studies

*Not available in Australia; here, you can choose from 24 or 28 lessons per week
