TESOL Course - Teaching English to Students of Other Languages
Would you like to use your English skills to teach others? A valid TESOL qualification opens the door to new employment and travel opportunities, and is respected throughout the world.
The Certificate IV in TESOL
This is a 10-week course that will allow you to work in Australia and abroad. TESOL, or Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, is a nationally accredited qualification.
The qualification is offered through our sister institution in Brisbane, Martin College, a leading Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
After successfully completing the 10-week course, you may:
- stay in Australia and teach English to small groups of students, or
- take the opportunity to travel and experience a new culture whilst putting your teaching skills into practice.
In the final week of the course, we also give students the opportunity to sit the Cambridge TKT (Teaching Knowledge Test).
The Cambridge Teaching Knowledge Test
The TKT is an external test offered by Cambridge ESOL which aims to increase teachers' confidence and enhance job prospects. It focuses on core knowledge needed by all teachers – particularly those who have just finished a preparation course for teaching English to speakers of other languages.
The TKT complements the TESOL course: much of the knowledge students gain in the TESOL course will be of use in their preparation for the TKT. Students also receive face-to-face tuition in test preparation and practice each week.
Successful students receive two qualifications in just ten weeks.
