Julia Southby, Principal

I'm the Principal of Embassy CES Oxford. I love the environment. I love teaching and I love being in the classroom, but I also like the administration side of it, and dealing with the agents, dealing with the students.

My very first step into English teaching was in Brazil. I then went to Italy, worked in the UK in a German language school down in Devon, then went overseas to Asia - but not in teaching - then went to Poland, there I got my first senior post, as a senior teacher in a Polish school. I went for three months, and ended up staying a year and a half because I loved it so much. Then I got an administrative academic post in Mexico. It's been a long and winding road - none of it was intentional, all of it was because of a passion for a job and the love of the environment. And here I am!

Oxford is a fantastic city - it's vibrant, dynamic, cosmopolitan. It's small enough to feel that you actually belong, but big enough to be constantly diverse and never get boring. Yes, it's a great place - I love it.
