They are excerpts from a DVD which is a free insert in The Practice of English Language Teaching by Jeremy Harmer, a textbook for those learning to be English teachers. Embassy CES is proud to have been chosen for this project, which uses our teachers and lessons to show examples of good practice. See videos of our lessons here.

Lynne Kennett, Teacher
I've been at Embassy CES since 1994. I started off as a state school teacher, and then I went to Sweden for a couple of years, and then to Germany and I spent a long time in Japan. I've worked in America, and most of Europe.
I'm a teacher trainer; I also teach Executive English and I'm sometimes at the MW International School, so there is real variety.
The Executive courses are limited to a maximum of five or six students and they tend to be smaller than that; they're business oriented. The courses are shorter; they're normally here for just two or three weeks, so it's a much more intense programme in a way. You have to cover their needs quickly. It's business related but they also need a lot of social English.
I also teach the CELTA course which involves methodology, classroom organisation, language analysis! we get native speakers who want to become teachers and non-native who are sometimes already teaching.
I love the variety. If I had to do one all the time, I'd get stale so it's nice to move between the departments.
I like living in Hastings. I love being by the sea. I think the countryside around Hastings is absolutely beautiful. And there's a fantastic amount of live music in the town, all sorts, everything. It doesn't matter what kind of stuff you're into, you can find it. I'm a member of a choir, and I enjoy walking and the occasional trip to the cinema.
