All students are tested on the first day of their course, then placed in a multinational class of an appropriate level. They have 15 hours tuition (made up of 20 lessons of 45 minutes) per week. New language items are presented, taught and practised in lessons one and two, using Embassy CES Summer teaching materials and supplemented by EFL course books and authentic 'realia'. Lessons three and four are language activity or project lessons, with special emphasis on communication and fluency work. These lessons also focus on the students' programme of activities and excursions.
The teaching programme is an integral part of the course, and students will be expected to learn new language as well as build confidence and develop their fluency skills. Teachers will have the academic support of a Director of Studies, plus use of pre-designed materials to minimise lesson preparation.
In designated centres, there is also the opportunity for students to further improve their language skills by enrolling on additional courses which take place in lieu of some of their activities. These courses include ICT, Intensive English (additional afternoon classes) and preparation for the Trinity examination.
