Working week: The Activity Manager works six days out of seven each week.
Reports to: The Centre Manager and ultimately the Programme Manager.

Main duties / responsibilities

  • To ensure that what has been sold to the client is provided at the centre
  • To ensure customer satisfaction by successfully delivering the Activity Programme
  • To liaise and maintain a good working relationship with service providers
  • To plan and promote a detailed Activity Programme for forthcoming weeks
  • To plan and manage a day-to-day staff rota
  • To make sure that all staff are adequately prepared for their activity session
  • To ensure adequate staffing levels for all activity sessions
  • To provide support and guidance to staff on activities including observations and feedback
  • To carry out regular Activity Leader observations
  • To implement and maintain weekly paperwork including adhering to the set budget
  • To ensure the activity notice boards and posters are updated and presentable
  • To assist the Centre Manager with student transfers where necessary
  • To ensure high levels of student safety and welfare are maintained at all times
  • To support and assist other managers at the centre
  • To establish a positive working environment amongst the team
  • To carry out the 24hr emergency duties on a rota basis
  • To carry out residential supervision duties, including meal and bedtime supervision and guardian duties

  • Previous summer school experience

Ideally you will have:

  • Previous managerial experience
  • First Aid qualification
  • Residential experience
  • Experience of working with teenagers

Remuneration

  • Remuneration depends on the size of the centre and the experience of the applicant
  • The post is residential (Full board accommodation is included)
