...you want to get some experience of using your English language in an English speaking workplace.

Internship offers an opportunity to gain practical experience of working life, network with professionals, and develop your business communication skills. If you use English in your job, or are hoping to enter an international industry, an internship will give you an invaluable boost and look superb on your résumé.

A winning combination

You'll begin with a minimum of four weeks on an intensive course, giving you the opportunity to improve your language skills - reading, writing, listening and speaking: you will need an Upper-Intermediate level at the start of the internship. The number of weeks' study must be the same as or longer than the length of internship.

Students undertaking the Embassy Diploma of English or the Embassy Certificate of Business English can integrate an internship into term 2 or 3.

Proof of your achievement

On successful completion of the internship, you will receive an Embassy CES certificate. Some students receive a company report or letter of recommendation.

Experience in your area

Some of the areas we have placed previous students on internships are: media, the arts, IT, education, travel and tourism, law, and social work. However, we will try to match any student with a suitable position relevant to their own industry: contact us for further details.

Work Placement Assistance

This scheme allows students to attend weekly Work Preparation seminars in school. If you plan a period of work after your course, these will be an invaluable resource for you. You'll learn about topics such as resumé (CV) writing, interview skills and goal setting, all in English. The programme is free of charge.

We can't guarantee that our students will be placed into a specific job, but we can guarantee that we will give each student the skills to compete for casual employment in Australia and England. This programme is offered to all Student Visa or Working Holiday Visa holders.
