The city
Cambridge is famous as one of the top two university cities in the UK. Historic university buildings and green spaces give it a unique atmosphere. The city centre offers superb shopping facilities, but it is easy to find many peaceful places to sit and relax. The River Cam flows behind Cambridge's universities, making for a lovely walk or boat ride.
With so many students living in the city, there is always a lot to do. Live music of all kinds can always be found along with all sorts of arts and culture events. A favourite activity for our students is sitting in one of the many cafes and watching the people go by.
Transport links to London are excellent, with the non-stop train taking less than an hour. Within the city, most central areas are within walking distance, but the city's bus service is useful for longer journeys. Cambridge is also excellent for cyclists, as it is so flat.
