What is Homestay?

Every year, hundreds of our students stay with carefully selected local Homestay hosts. The experience for both can be enriching and memorable. Students benefit from living with native people in a supportive home environment, practising English and learning about everyday life in their chosen country. You and your household, meanwhile, gain friends from all over the world, find out about other customs, cultures and cuisines, and receive a modest monetary reimbursement for your services.

There is no requirement for you to be a 'family' in the conventional sense: single people, lone parents, flat-sharers, and other configurations are equally welcome to apply!

Students are matched to households with great care, taking into account factors such as young children, pets and lifestyles. They will be expected to abide by your own customs and reasonable rules in all areas from cleanliness to curfew times. We have students to host all the year round, with the largest numbers arriving for the summer months and during holiday periods. Whether you are interested in hosting for a few months a year, or full-time, one student or more, for short stays or long (some of our students stay for a year or more) - do get in touch. Meet some of our past students here.
