It seems that Embassy CES is the place to study. Well, that's what certain stars of stage, screen, and the sports world seem to think! See below for more details of our famous ex-students. But remember: you don't have to be a star to study with Embassy CES. To us, every student is a V.I.P.

Ruby Lin at Embassy CES New York
Model-turned-actress Ruby Lin was born in Taipei in 1976. She shot to fame across Asia after starring in the Taiwan television series Princess Returning Pearl and then went on to appear in a series of Hong Kong films.
Her tutor at Embassy CES in New York, Karen-White Miller (also professional actress, director, and voice coach) says of her: "Ruby was a delightful student! She was fearless and receptive. She has a terrific can-do attitude and was interested and persistent. She's a wonderful mimic and has a zest for learning that excites teachers. We miss her in class!"
Ruby furthered her acting skills by familiarising herself with American techniques and attended private classes at the well-known New York Film Academy, when she wasn't shopping! See her official website here.

Isabel Bawlitza at Embassy CES Cambridge
Isabel Bawlitza, winner of Miss Chile 2000 and semi-finalist in that year's Miss World competition, chose Embassy CES as the place to improve her English. The model-turned-TV-presenter was happy to chat to us about her achievements, ambitions and reasons for studying the Intensive Certificate of English course at Embassy CES in Cambridge.
Of her Miss World success, she recalls, "It was a very good experience: lots of work, very tiring, lots of women - too many! But I have good memories. I got a very good place. I was sixth. And I have good memories of England as well, because the competition was here in England."
How will she use her English? She has perhaps one of the most enviable reasons for language learning we have yet experienced: "One of my plans is to work in TV, for a travel programme. I think I'll need English to interview the people I meet.
"I came here to Britain to improve my English and I chose Embassy CES because it was the best I found. I feel I have improved a lot and it has to do with the teachers. They are excellent!"

Katrin Meissner at Embassy CES in Australia
Germany's former Olympic swimming champion Katrin Meissner, who has won a career total of 33 medals, studied at Embassy CES in Australia. The 31-year-old caused a sensation at the Seoul Olympics in 1988 when as a 15 year-old she won two relay gold medals for East Germany. Meissner's 33 medals were won in the Olympics, and the world and European championships. After years of relay success, she finally won the European 100 metres title in 1989. At the Sydney Games in 2000, Meissner finished fourth in two of the women's relay events, and placed 11th in the 50 metre freestyle. A year later at the world championships in Fukuoka, Japan she helped Germany to the 4x100m freestyle relay title and took individual silver in the 100m freestyle.
Katrin enjoyed a well-earned holiday in New Zealand before heading to Embassy CES to study English and scuba diving. Her English is at a high level - she entered Embassy CES at Upper Intermediate. After she finished studying, she returned to Germany to go to university.
Manuela Fellner at Embassy CES Los Angeles
Swiss folk singer Manuela Fellner started her musical career a few years ago by entering a contest organised by the national newspaper Blick. When she won, she was entered for the programme Grand Prix, which appears on the national TV network SF DRS.
This competition begins at national level in Germany, Austria, Italy, and Switzerland. Manuela won the Swiss competition and will now go on to compete in the 2006 Grand Prix finals. The competition features 16 songs sent in by different song-writers, and is very similar to American Idol in the USA.
She says of her process for writing music: "It depends on my mood and what is happening in my life. As with most people, either sadness or excitement start the process of wanting to express oneself. My own songs mostly deal with love." See Manuela's official website here.
Manuela studied the Embassy Certificate of English at Embassy CES Los Angeles. She based her decision on the high quality of the course, and her desire to experience such an interesting city. She says of learning English overseas: "Everybody should study abroad. I have learned a lot about myself and I have grown up a lot."
