13. What is a semester? What is an academic year?
'Semester' and 'academic year' refer to the length of the course.
A semester is two terms of 11 weeks each. There is a vacation between the two terms, so the total course length is six months.
An academic year is three terms of eleven weeks each. There is a vacation between each term, so the total course length is nine months.
