TOEIC preparation
Is TOEIC preparation for me?
- Prove your English fluency in the workplace
- Experienced teachers train you in examination techniques
- Also improve your all-round English
- Take the exam onsite
The Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC) is used to measure the ability of non-native English-speaking people to use English in everyday work activities.
With more than three million test takers per year, the TOEIC test is the standard for workplace English language proficiency worldwide.
You might like to know that results at Embassy schools are consistently above national averages. Join a dedicated class of students all studying towards the same goal, and it's incredible what results you will achieve. Our teachers are experienced in giving you the skills you need to enter the exam room with confidence - and exit with great results.
TOEIC is a supplementary elective option which can be added to your Certificate of English or Language Semester Abroad course in Brisbane only.
Length of course
TOEIC courses are a minimum of four weeks, but you can supplement with any number of additional weeks until you reach the level you require.
Your timetable
You'll have 20x50 minute lessons of General English (as for the Certificate of English course), and eight lessons of Exam Preparation per week - you'll find that each class benefits from the progress you make in the other.
Level
The minimum level for joining this course is Pre-Intermediate, which is approximately equal to TOEIC 301-400.
What's my level of English?
You can expect to rise by approximately 100 - 125 TOEIC points per ten weeks that you study*.
So, for example, if you begin as Pre-Intermediate and study for ten weeks, you can expect your new TOEIC score to be 401 - 525. A score of at least 650 is normally desirable for working on an internship; 800 upwards is considered necessary for working in an English-speaking company.
You might like to know that TOEIC results from Embassy students are consistently above national averages.
Following the course, the examination will normally take place in the school, under stringent examination conditions. Your school will take care of all registration details.
