Kristin Kelly - Student Services Representative
My work involves:
Assisting students in every facet of life, from orientation to the end of their courses, getting ID, opening a bank account, housing, etc.
My top tip for learning:
Be flexible... taking on new assignments helps you understand how your work inter-relates with other areas of life.
My top tip for enjoying San Diego:
Don't be afraid to leave Gaslamp [the main tourist area]! Surf in the morning and then find a rooftop bar to enjoy the sunset on the bay!
My experience:
Born and raised in Southern California, I hail from the exquisite town of Riverside, California. I graduated from UC Santa Barbara with Honours, acquiring a degree in Linguistics and Global Studies. I spent my junior year abroad in France, which really roused my interest in international education.
After some teaching and an internship with Embassy, I was honoured to become Student Services Representative. Though absorbed in my position, I still find time to practise piano, play tennis, teach dance, perform in musical theatre, and paint. I love good literature, long road trips, and San Diego!

My top tip for learning:
Learn from the people around you: learn from their mistakes, and then do it better than they do. Be persistent, don't give up, it'll pay off.
My top tip for enjoying San Diego:
Feel free to go out, enjoy the city and everything it has to offer. The climate is very agreeable and the city is gorgeous. Visit all its beaches, go out eating in one of the several good restaurants or simply spend time with your classmates and friends.

This great experience should not be missed by anyone. Stay as long as you can: it's not going to be long enough.

Learning English is the best part of San Diego. Some of the teachers here have helped me a lot and they deserve a big round of applause.
I enjoy San Diego a lot, I think is the best place I've ever been. Though I miss my family, San Diego took my pain away because of the cool places, the school that I love so much. The people that live here are so warm, nice and outgoing.
Come to San Diego, enjoy your stay and rock this wonderful city!

I think the best way to learn a new language is to live in the place because you can push your mind to work in the native language.

San Diego has the best beaches, restaurants, and parks. My favourite moment is to see the sunset in La Jolla.
My experience:
During my time in America, I am discovering many things, and living new experiences. Really I can say I have luck because I am in America, I am studying at the best language school. The most beautiful experience in San Diego is watching the blue sky, and the weather is amazing!

Sandra Parpan - Switzerland
FCE Examination Preparation
My top tip for learning:
San Diego is the best place to improve your (nightlife-) English. Go out as much as you can and ask your teacher the next day about the new words you learned while you were out.
The School has an amazing view over San Diego (17th floor in Downtown)…don't look out of the window too much - otherwise you will learn not as much as you could. Learning in Embassy involves a lot of fun, great (and crazy) teachers and countless groovy students.
My top tip for enjoying San Diego:
You will never have time to not enjoy San Diego. This city is amazing but you will miss a lot of sleep. Get together with new friends from all over the world and enjoy the day- and of course the fantastic nightlife in San Diego.

My top tip for enjoying San Diego:
Explore an enjoy the city. San Diego is a wonderful place. But don't forget, "when in Rome, do as the Romans do".
My experience:
I was born in San Jose, Costa Rica, and educated in the United States.I taught English in Venezuela for 16 years. I enjoy teaching and at the same time learning many things from my students. I love Opera and classical music, but I love dancing to popular music as well.

Christina Andrade - Teacher / Media and Technology Champion

My top tip for learning:
Tip #1-Mistakes are just stepping stones to success so speak up even when you're not sure if you're right.
Tip #2 -Realise that learning also exists outside of the classroom. Get out there and experience the life and culture in the city where you study and new language is bound to come along! My top tip for enjoying life in San Diego:
Do something new every day, even if it's just visiting a new grocery store. Even small experiences can lead to fun adventures!
My experience:
It's uniquely fortunate that I can boast working for this company in both the Northern and Southern hemispheres! I started my career with Embassy in 2005 in Perth, Australia where I had the privilege of getting paid to have fun. Well, my official job title was 'Activities Program Coordinator/Teacher' but this is how I saw it nonetheless.
I am now a Teacher/Media and Technology Champion at Embassy San Diego. You may notice my affinity for being a "slashy" in this company, both of my titles being 'this-slash-that'. This reflects my love of multi-tasking and this company's knack for finding the right niches for their employees.
I can honestly say that I have enjoyed every minute of my years with Embassy on both sides of the world. Whether in Australia or the US, there isn't another company I'd rather be working for because, quite simply, we are the best providers of English education in the world!
When not moving between the two furthest points on the globe, I keep myself busy teaching my Australian husband how to speak American English and chasing after my two puppies; Mad Max and King Buddy III.
