Embassy in Canada

Embassy students will be learning English in two brand new schools from April 2011. We recently acquired the Pacific Gateway schools in Toronto and Victoria, adding Canada to our list of destinations and bringing our total school count up to 21.

Toronto is Canada's largest city, well-renowned for being safe, clean and friendly. Our new school boasts amazing views across the lake and to the CN tower. Victoria is a popular tourist destination because of its historic buildings, temperate climate and proximity to hiking and ski trails. It is close to Vancouver, Washington and Seattle, making it a superb location for the student who wishes to see a little of Canada and the Pacific North West.

Pacific Gateway's founder and director, Mr. Sammy Takahashi, will stay in his role, and Embassy will be ensuring a seamless transition for existing students.

This is a very exciting development for Embassy - and for its students - and we look forward to bringing you the same high-quality courses that Embassy has become known for.

Over the next few weeks, the schools will be refurbished and interactive whiteboards added to bring them up to the same standard as our other schools. Would you like to study in Canada with Embassy? Book now.

Embassy's a star - again!

LTM Star Award winner Embassy offers the highest-quality English learning experience: we've always known that. But it's nice to have it confirmed, and that's why this week, we were delighted to hear that we have won a major award for the fourth consecutive year: Best Chain School 2010.

The Language Travel Magazine awards are the most important in the language school industry. This prize reflects the opinions of our partners and our students - the people we care about most. It recognises the high standards of English language teaching that are consistent in our schools across the world, as well as our consistently excellent satisfaction rates. It shows that you are in good hands with Embassy, and we're awfully proud to have won it.

At Embassy we are always looking for ways to improve your experience and help you reach your goals.

Interactive whiteboards will ensure you learn more effectively and achieve a greater understanding of the English language much more quickly than conventional methods of teaching.

Interactive whiteboards are proven to enhance the learning experience, creating dynamic, engaging and fun classes, and so we are replacing all of our conventional whiteboards with these ultra-modern, interactive, computerised ones.

75% of our classes worldwide are now taught using interactive whiteboards with a goal of 100% in 2010.

Here are just some of the reasons that interactive whiteboards will help you learn more effectively:

  • Course materials are displayed on-screen, with graphics and sounds to keep the lessons interesting
  • Interactive whiteboards can display material from DVDs, CD-ROMs, PowerPoint presentations, Word documents, and the Internet
  • Instant access to online resources means teachers can help you with images, graphics or sound files - and quickly
  • Teachers can bring together words and images, ensuring better comprehension and retention
  • You'll use interactive games, quizzes, puzzles that make learning fun
  • You'll be more engaged personally and socially in the class and the activities
  • There are simply endless resources accessible at the click of a mouse

Embassy on Facebook and Twitter

If you are a social media fan, you'll be excited to know that Embassy is, too. Now you can connect with students at all our schools on two popular sites: Twitter and Facebook.

Facebook

Are you on Facebook, the social networking site? So are we! We love the idea that Embassy students, past, present, and future, can congregate and communicate in one place to share stories and advice.

At the same time, we like to have one place where we can share photos, videos and news about our schools.

We also often use the page to announce special offers and news.

If you'd like to join the gang, you'll find us here:

You have to be a Facebook member: it is free and quick to join.
Once in, just click on 'become a fan' at the top right of the Facebook page.

Twitter

If you prefer something shorter and sweeter, come and find us on Twitter! Just 'follow' us to find out about special offers, all the latest news from our schools, and important announcements. You'll find our Twitter page here. You don't have to be a member to view it.

Embassy students can now progress to La Trobe University

Embassy and La Trobe University have made a new agreement. Embassy students who successfully complete the English for Academic Purposes course may now choose to progress onto an undergraduate degree at this high ranking and prestigious University based in Melbourne and in several locations across Victoria.

A great Embassy USA achievement

ACCET logoIn the USA, language schools are accredited by ACCET: book into an ACCET-listed establishment and you can be sure that your course and school have met their standards of excellence.

ACCET inspects all schools on its list regularly, and our USA schools have just undergone the most recent round of inspections.

We recently received the news that all Embassy USA schools are to be reaccredited and that no further inspection will be required for the next five years.

This is an accolade reserved for the highest quality schools and we are delighted to know that ACCET places such faith in our US schools.
